POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

1.Maintenance of safe custody for the prisoners both under-trial & convicts.

2. Maintenance of security inside the jails.

3. Correctional programmes for the prisoners to modify their behavior & to re-socialize them after their release from jail.

4. Vocational programmes for the prisoners to make them self-dependent after their release from jail.

5. Implementation of Rules & Regulation of National Human Rights Commission & National Commission for Women.

Prisoners are getting good quality and nutritious diet along with special diet on religious festival/national days. The sick prisoners are served “Special Diet Menu” under guidance of medical officer. Sick prisoners get proper care of “Medical Facilities” in Jail Hospital by the Medical staff.

IN COMPLIANCE OF THE DIRECTION OF THE HON’BLE APEX COURT OF INDIA, THE ‘TRIPURA SANSODHANAGAR RULES -2021’ HAS BEEN FRAMED IN HOME (JAIL) DEPARTMENT FOR BETTER PRISON ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGMENT WITHIN THIS STATE.

Home (Jail) Department have 2(two) nos. Scheme for payment compensation to the Victim as per Direction of the District Legal Services Authority and Ld. Court namely – Presently Compensation are being paid to the victims by Direct Beneficiary Transfer(DBT) through BMS PORTAL launched on 24/04/2023.
